Ervin Lee Holmes, Jr. “Bud” as a child, “Lee” as an adult.
On the evening of December 30th, 2016, Lee entered into eternity from his tiny home in Arnett, Oklahoma.  He was 56 years old.
Born in Bowie, Montague County, Texas on the 11th of June, 1960 at 7:58 PM, Lee was the fourth child, first son, of Wilma Irene and Ervin Lee Holmes, Sr.
In adulthood, Lee took on a practice he learned from our father: An earnest desire to help people, no matter the personal cost to him.  It was Lee’s pleasure and, apparently, his God-given ministry to lend a hand to others, expecting nothing in return.  It has been said that he would give you the shirt off of his back in winter if you didn’t have one.
Lee faced challenges in his youth that many would not be strong enough to handle. He always came out the other side the victor, and hardly ever spoke of the matters.  Like our father, he faced every obstacle head-on, seeking solutions instead of complaining about a problem.
Whether he knew you well or not at all, he greeted others with the same joyful, “How’s it goin’” with an enthusiasm one might associate with someone who had no problems at all.  When he was “on the job”, be it for an employer or one for whom he would help, he always endured to make sure that, when he left, you were pleased with the work he had done.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Ervin Lee Holmes, Sr. & Wilma Irene (Smith) (Holmes) (Wheeler) and a sister, Lora Lee (Holmes) Moore.
He is survived by a son, Daniel Lee Bondch of Las Vegas, Nevada, a daughter, Ruth Ida Holmes of Houston, TX; Sisters Opal Marie (Holmes) Cornelson of Cartwright, OK & Rhea Carole (Holmes) Range of Arnett, OK, and a brother, Charles William Holmes of Keller, TX, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends far too numerous to count from many Oklahoma towns & cities.
Services are pending until Spring of 2017 when Lee’s ashes will be interred in the Bozarth Family Cemetery in Beaver County, OK, next to his father and grandfather.
